Rev. Charles Johnson was elected to the board of an international human rights agency at an August conference in New Orleans, Henderson County Attorney Steve Gold was selected for the Kentucky Prosecutors Advisory Council, & Dorsey Ridley received the Rotarian of the Year honor on Sept. 10.

The Lady Colonels aim to win a region championship with experienced defenders and a young attack this season.

They will host the regional tournament this fall and work to improve week by week under coach Ben Dempsey.

The Fallen Trooper Mack Brady Memorial 5K will take place Oct.

17 at Central Park, starting at 8 a.m., and will honor the late trooper while benefiting Trooper Island Camp, which helps children enjoy a week of fun at Dale Hollow Lake.

Henderson County High cross country is adding depth on both boys and girls teams as they finished meets earlier in September and will compete at regionals on Oct.

24 and state championships on Oct. 31 at Kentucky Horse Park + aim to build on last year’s success.

Head coach John Elliott leads the Colonels into his second season with key offensive players returning, including senior quarterback Brody Belt and running back Jack Dalton.

The team built on last season's postseason run and looks to improve as the new season unfolds.

The Henderson County boys’ soccer team is rebuilding after graduating 11 seniors and losing key scorer Alex Bowley.

Coach Benson Pryor said the team, relying on experienced seniors and new goalkeepers, will compete aggressively for a regional championship — a challenge that calls for quick scoring and strong defense.

The Colonels lost 34—14 to Gibson Southern Friday at Colonel Stadium as penalties and injuries hindered their scoring chances.

Now at 1-3, the team will look to improve when they travel to Owensboro to face Daviess County this Friday at 7 p.m.
